The Austin Business Journal's "Profiles in Power" Nominee Reception

The event was to take place at the Runtex on Riverside. Austin Catering was asked to come aboard to choreograph the design, layout and catering. It was upon our site visit that we were asked how we could mask the "runner store" and transform it into a posh event facility. Kristin Stephens, Director of Catering, saw the potential of not masking the typical characteristics of an athletic store, but playing upon them. The signature "Runner" metal sculpture of Runtex would become the metaphoric backdrop of the event. The multi-color bench blocks (for trying on shoes) were doubled on top of each other and then arranged to create an abstract buffet platform. Groupings of standing cocktail tables were draped with linens of coordinating vibrant colors and decorated with contrasting colored votives. The continuity was carried out even through the brilliantly "hand painted" serving platters, which displayed the following menu:

Roasted Pork Tenderloin
With "1015" Onion Relish & Black Pepper Biscuits

Smoked Shiner Bock Glazed Salmon
With Cucumber Dill Sauce & Focaccia Toasts

Seafood Rockefeller Dip
With Parmesan Crostinis

Anthony's Signature Peanut Butter Cookies
Drizzled with White Chocolate
