The mother of the groom wanted her "only son's" rehearsal dinner to be an evening to remember and cherish. Warm tones with an impression of spring, was the image and graceful accents of the South was the ambience she wished to convey to her guests. The look was inspired with rich cinnamon taffeta table linens, soft gold organza chair sashes and finished with honey colored napkins, tied with shimmering cinnamon organza ribbon. Simple, yet unique floral centerpieces and warm amber votive candles completed this romantic theme.
The momentous occasion began with guests being greeted by gracious servers tailored in Guayaberras offering hand passed hors d'oeuvres. Their palates were amused with "Petite Gulf Crab Cakes laced with Lime Beurre Blanc and Cilantro Gremolata" and "House made Cheddar Wafers topped with Texas Chevre & Roasted Red Bell Pepper Relish". Family and friends mingled while a hip local band strummed country tunes in the background.
As evening fell the guests were seated and served salads of "Baby Spinach garnished with Strawberries, Almonds, Ricotta Salata & Maple Balsamic Vinaigrette", followed by plates composed of "Seared Halibut encrusted with Pecans and Shallots, Scalloped New Potato Tarts and Roasted Asparagus Spears". The finale was individual "Lemon-Ginger Cakes sauced with garden fresh Raspberry Coulis". As the guests endulged in this decadent sweet ending, so was the compilation of "childhood to present" images that played upon the canvas backdrop. This was a most sentimental gift, from the family to the couple, and one that left no eyes dry. It was truly an evening to remember and cherish.
